nothing compares to the acceptance and fun we experienced in the 80s. It seemed everyone comingled together so easily; yes, we had or fought over disagreements and most often made up afterwards. any fashion was the style. that life long gone. definition of fun: 80s baby!

When I was 8yrs old in 1983, I was dancing at the Community Center's music-dance. Even tho they had drinking and smoking, I didnt care because it all the windows were open and I was having a blast. I honestly was doing any dance (almost like a white-man dance), all the time laughing, crying-joy, and never got tired.

Perfect new wave, synth goth, type sound. I'm sure ppl may not agree with my genre labels; but 2 me this song is a perfect description of those areas of music. That dis-harmonic sample, really sets off the entire composition into the Stratos of; dark outer-space, sadness. Is that a silk shirt he has? Bc for those alive and kicking when this was made, you remember silk was all the rage. Right down to silk boxers. (Which are not shorts, bc that would be like wearing underwear n claiming'em 2 be shorts.) They were so stylish that ppl as this singer does showed their silk boxers off at every opportunity. It never reached the nasty point that skaters & gwanabes brought it too: where your pants were down to your knees wearing a tommy pullmyfinger shirt, but just enough for the public to see your boxers cost more than your pants. I cannot overestimate how cool silk was then. So call me all your homophonic names, but 2be honest the few silk items I ever owned were torn to pieces in a washing machine in a month. Plus I was quite young. But I cannot hear this and it's contemporary bands without recalling the bands very formal, loose hanging clothing style. I personally find the sounds and styles of this time far superior to our last 2 decades, of scruffy facial hair and lumberjack clothing trends.

I'm 57 grew up in New York on long island we had a radio station called WLIR there's been documentaries made about this time period and that radio station how they got all this great British music out of the UK to play on the station. Music nobody had ever heard arrived at JFK airport every Monday n was on the air that day. When MTV began this was the music that started it all off. Great Times wouldn't trade my youth for anything it was that special I saw all the greatest music the best bands and I still play today.
